What types of custom tables do you build?
We build standard built-to-order dining tables as well as specialty tables, including live-edge tables, epoxy river tables, farmhouse tables, trestle tables, modern hardwood tables, oversized dining tables, and custom conference tables.
What wood species do you offer?
Our primary wood options are Douglas fir, alder, maple, white oak, and black walnut. Specialty projects may also use unique slabs or other hardwoods depending on availability.
What is the difference between a Standard Collection table and a Specialty table?
Standard Collection tables are built from repeatable designs using lumber that can be sourced reliably. Customers choose the size, wood species, finish, and available base options. Specialty tables involve more unusual materials or design work, such as live-edge slabs, epoxy rivers, rare wood, oversized dimensions, or one-of-a-kind features.
How long does it take to build a custom table?
Our current estimated turnaround is approximately 3 weeks for Standard Collection tables and 8 weeks for Specialty tables. Lead times can vary based on materials, complexity, finishing, and current workload.
How much does a custom dining table cost?
Standard built-to-order tables generally start around $2,195, with pricing increasing based on size and wood species. Specialty live-edge tables typically start around $3,495, while epoxy river tables generally start around $5,495. Final pricing depends on dimensions, materials, base style, finish, engraving, and other custom features.
How much does an 8-foot custom dining table cost?
Current starting prices for an approximately 8-foot Standard Collection table are about $2,795 in Douglas fir, $2,995 in alder, $3,395 in maple, $3,895 in white oak, and $4,695 in black walnut.
Do you build live-edge tables?
Yes. We build custom live-edge dining tables using carefully selected slabs. Live-edge tables are part of our Specialty Collection and can be built in several wood species, including alder, maple, white oak, and walnut.
Do you build epoxy river tables?
Yes. We offer custom epoxy river tables, including blue river designs and other custom epoxy colors or effects. Because slab selection and epoxy work vary substantially from project to project, river tables are individually quoted.
Can I choose the color of the epoxy in my river table?
Yes. Blue is a popular choice, but epoxy color, transparency, depth, and appearance can be customized depending on the project.
Do you offer custom engraving?
Yes. Custom engraving is available for an additional fee and typically starts around $195. Engraving can include family names, dates, coordinates, cabin names, business logos, short phrases, or other meaningful designs. More detailed artwork or large engraving areas are custom quoted.
Can you engrave my family name or cabin name into the table?
Yes. Family names, property names, cabin names, dates, and geographic coordinates are all good options for creating a more personal table.
What size dining table should I order?
That depends on your room and how many people you want to seat. A 6-foot table is often suitable for about six people, while 8-, 9-, and 10-foot tables work well for larger families and gathering spaces. We can help determine a comfortable size based on your room dimensions and seating needs.
Can you build tables larger than 10 feet?
Yes. Oversized dining and conference tables can be built as specialty projects. Larger tables may require special lumber, additional support, different bases, or on-site assembly.
Do you build tables specifically for Park City mountain homes?
Yes. Park City Tables focuses on custom furniture for Park City and surrounding Utah mountain communities. Our designs range from rustic farmhouse and lodge styles to cleaner modern hardwood tables suited for contemporary mountain homes.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Park City, Deer Valley, Heber City, Midway, and surrounding Wasatch Back communities. Other Utah locations may also be available depending on the project.
Do you deliver and set up the table?
Delivery and setup can be arranged. Because large hardwood tables can be extremely heavy, many tables are transported in components and assembled or positioned at the customer’s home. Delivery pricing depends on the location and project.
Can I send you a picture of a table I like?
Yes. Inspiration photos are very helpful. You can also send photographs of your dining room so we can better understand the space, existing finishes, and overall style.
Can you match a table to my home’s existing woodwork or furniture?
We can work toward coordinating wood species, stain tones, finishes, and design styles with your existing interior. Exact color matches can vary because every piece of natural wood has its own grain and color characteristics.
Are your tables solid wood?
Our custom tables are designed around real wood construction. The exact materials and construction method depend on the selected table design, wood species, size, and specialty features.
What is the best wood for a custom dining table?
There isn’t one best option for every home. Douglas fir and alder provide warm rustic character at a lower price point. Maple offers a cleaner, lighter appearance. White oak is durable and works especially well in premium modern interiors. Black walnut is our premium option for customers who want rich natural color and distinctive grain.
Is white oak more expensive than maple?
Typically, yes. White oak generally costs more because of the material cost and its popularity in high-end furniture and interiors.
Why is walnut more expensive?
Black walnut is a premium hardwood with rich natural color and highly desirable grain. Quality walnut lumber and large walnut slabs are significantly more expensive than many other common furniture woods.
Can I choose the table base?
Yes. Depending on the table, options may include farmhouse bases, trestle bases, modern wood bases, and steel bases. Some specialty bases may increase the price.
Can you build a matching bench?
Yes. Matching benches can be added to many table designs and can be made from the same wood and finish as the table.
Can you distress or hand-plane a table?
Yes. Hand-planing, distressing, and other surface treatments can be added for customers who want a more rustic or aged appearance.
How do I get a quote?
Send us your approximate table size, preferred style, wood species, delivery location, and any inspiration photos you have. If you’re unsure about those details, we can help narrow them down.
Do I have to know exactly what I want before contacting you?
No. Many customers begin with only a general idea. We can help you compare table sizes, woods, finishes, bases, and standard versus specialty options.
Can you build something that isn’t shown on your website?
Yes. The website shows examples and common options, but specialty projects can be evaluated individually. If you have a sketch, photograph, or unusual idea, send it to us for review.
Are the tables shown on the website exact products I can order?
Some designs may represent repeatable built-to-order styles, while specialty tables are inherently unique because natural slabs, grain patterns, live edges, and epoxy features vary from one table to another.
Will my live-edge or walnut table look exactly like the photos?
No two pieces of natural wood are identical. Grain, knots, color variation, cracks, edges, and figuring are part of what makes each hardwood table unique.
How should I care for a custom wood dining table?
Use a soft damp cloth for routine cleaning, clean spills promptly, and avoid harsh household chemicals or abrasive cleaners. We can provide more specific care instructions based on the finish used on your table.
